Primary Review

July 10th, 2008

The Cambridge University-based Primary Review (www.primaryreview.org.uk) is the largest inquiry into primary education for 40 years. Among the many topics being investigated are the effects of test-based accountability

I would point, particularly, to the views on Sats tests expressed by teachers, parents and pupils (which are not identical), in the “Community Soundings” interim report. It can be viewed here:

The Government’s own review of the primary curriculum, being led by Sir Jim Rose, is not investigating the impact of testing.
